Little Bags.

I don't feel like we have an enormous amount of toys at our house, but I'm convinced any amount of toys feels like a whole lot. Linley has just recently wanted to tote around multiple toys with us. In an effort to stay somewhat organized and to have a convenient way to tote "stuff" around - I pulled out some miniature canvas bags I have - and came up with this.

I organized "stuff" by category, printed them off on to iron-on paper, and ironed them on to the bag. Now we can just grab and go.

I'm sure we'll be adding as we go.

By the way, I have loved these little bags - and use them for lots of things. Like, remember when I used one here? And, I love putting Linley's bows into one that has her name on the front when we travel.

a few little pleats.

i was browsing around anthropologie yesterday (saturday) looking for something to wear to a wedding. i wanted a dress, but i happened to stumble across this little beaut.

it's pleats. and pink. not a usual choice for me. and it's a midi skirt. (it hits mid calf) which is totally in right now. and sadly, i've not had the luxury to be able to pull off this kind of skirt. 1., because i'm short. and 2. i have hips. and these types of skirt usually have a lot of fabric, making me look like a circus tent. no lie.

so, i saw this skirt, and loved it, of course. i grabbed it and pulled it into my dressing room. i tried on all these dresses, and saved the skirt for last. i put it on, and it was love. now, i was worried that it made me look too tent like but this wonderful skirt didn't. it is a miracle. finally a midi i could wear that worked with hips and shortness. i'm stoked.

it also comes in black.
(cause missy wearing a pink skirt? it's unheard of. but i got pink!)

adorable, right?

Friday Favorites ...

* I love watching Home by Novogratz on HGTV - and I love the duo's designs.
* I already have a toaster that works perfectly, but I love the style, colors, and features of the Dualit Toasters.
* I really liked Smarties when I was pregnant with L - but now I'm really enjoying Smarties Bubble Gumballs. I don't know why, but they have good flavor and they're easy to chew - and hopefully not as bad for you.

Friday Favorites ...

* I really love Dwell Studio. Not necessarily the prices, but the design. I am loving the Skyline Crib bedding at the moment!
* I didn't pump a lot with my first, and who knows if I will with my second - but part of the problem with pumping I found is that you have to hold the stupid pumps, and can't do anything else while you're pumping. This bra from PumpEase would really help that problem, and it's stylish.
* I'm loving the idea of carrying a backpack with baby 2. I did carry one with L for awhile. I especially like this Marc by Marc Jacobs backpack.

Shopping for a Boy ...

I was feeling nervous at first, and a little sad because it seemed like every store I walked into had darling baby girls clothes. In fact, I was at Gap the other day and there were the most adorable little leopard newborn shoes that I would have snagged in a second - but I'm figuring out a few things when it comes to shopping for a boy - and I am actually really enjoying it.

I had a dream the other night that both he and I had nothing to wear home from the hospital. I've got plenty of time until then - but I'm happy to report at least he'll have some new duds to wear home from the hospital. I've been almost giddy looking in the boy's section.

I'm not a fan of characters or animals on clothes, and clothes have to be comfortable - so here are some of the basics I've picked up - on sale. From Gap ...

And, like I said I don't usually love animals on things - but I thought this little get up was cute from Naartjie ...

Friday Favorites ...

* I finally just bought myself a Chef's Planet Nonstick Ovenliner for my ovens. They were $19.99 each at Bed Bath and Beyond. My Grandma has raved about them for years. It catches spills and makes them easy to clean up. Say goodbye to messes in the bottom of your oven.
* I'm not a huge fan of characters on kid's clothing, so anytime I see cute basic clothing without characters I'm all over it. I don't own anything from Loralin Design but I saw it on Zulily and think there's some cute baby boy clothing. There are other cute things too.
* I love the striped bedding at West Elm. I like the yellow and the gray.

According to Missy

hellllllllloooooo
its been far too long since the last post.
but here is just a little something i'm obsessed with,
as of late....

lipstick.
i love lipstick.
i've never been one to wear it.
i've always been the "gloss wearing" kind of girl.
but lately. i've worn nothing but red lipstick and a coral lipstick.
i'm obsessed with it.
i just got the coral lipstick/lipstain from smashbox.
it's amazing. especially when you don't have time to touch up your lipstick that much.

case in point....

far away, but it's red.

such an amazing shade of red. i love it.

thank you j. crew. you inspire me in so many ways.
(i want this shade so badly.)

lipstick is a great way to spruce up that look.
be bold. pick a shade you wouldn't wear regularly.
you may like it.

A Yummy Recipe ...

Tortellini with Snap Peas in Lemon Dill Cream Sauce

I went to school with Kelsey, watch her show on the Cooking Channel, and follow her blog. I made this recipe the other night (and other than burning the pancetta) it was yummy.

Grilled Pizza Pitas

This isn't very original, and I'd recommend buying pitas that aren't cut in half (I thought I had) but this is an easy and pretty healthy dinner. It got good reviews from my family.

Balance Bikes

We have yet to purchase one of these, but it sounds like they're the only way to go.
Does anyone own one?
Thoughts?
